This cheese is made only with milk that is guaranteed to be of the highest quality and only from local farms that practice animal welfare. The Blumenkäse recipe has been used by the Oberriet village cheese dairy for many years. There are only four ingredients: Swiss milk, cultures, rennet, and salt.
Blumenkäse, also known as "blooms cheese," is a feast for the eyes before it is even tasted because to the dried marigold, blueberry, and rose blossoms that create yellow, blue, and red patches on the crust. It also emits a mouthwatering aroma of mountain savory, herbs, mint, and juniper berries due to the twelve various herbs that cover it. The delicate and somewhat tangy aroma of the blooms cheese has fully established after six months of maturation.
